Hi reporters! Got something really cool for you this week: a virtual reality experience that only requires you to drag and drop an image. Ready?
I was at Media Party Africa in Cape Town last week, having a grand old time discussing journalism innovation with African reporters, and I stumbled upon Dan Zajdband‘s epic tool: a website that makes VR “experiences” out of any old image. Look at this on mobile if you can!
Some of my VR experiences aren’t great, because I didn’t take actual 360 photos (going all the way around). But I went on a VR rampage anyway.
The tool is called Guri, and I was doing the simplest version of VR creation: just dragging an image (up to about 4MB) into the editor and letting it work its magic. You can also do text, animation, even audio and stuff. It’s amazing! Try it out!
