The thrill of the hunt

Forgive me, reporters! I was supposed to send this two weeks ago, but it was the Fourth of July, and I was moving to DC, and I admit it did not even occur to me to send you a tool ๐Ÿ˜”

Still, we march on. This time, finding people’s email addresses. When trying to help a student, I came across this little how-to, which led me to Email Hunter.

Email Hunterย searches for emails on a domain, like nytimes.com. But the article I read recommends pairing their Chrome Extension with LinkedIn. This way you get a little pop up and searches for their email – and it worked every time I tried it.

You may have already guessed this, but: Email Hunter does not, by any means comprehensive. For instance, it couldn’t verify my own email address, even though it’s listed right there on my website. Also, you only get 100 free searches per month.

But I did find it a more powerful email-searcher than most – other sources say they have a high success rate. So I’d add it to your toolbox.

I will try not to be MIA next time, folks! Enjoy the hunt.
