Where your notes can roam

Well hello, reporters! We have a special guest today, David Cohn, but you may know him as Digidave.

Dave got in touch to cheer an app called Roam, which I’ve heard about from other corners of the Internet. I’ll let him take it from here:

Roam Research is a tool that can become the “main driver” of your day. It’s like a personal wiki for you to weave daily notes with ongoing ideas, contacts, etc. And if that’s all you use it for, it is a powerful way to map out how your ideas intersect over time.

But Roam can also be your “To Do” list, your calendar, your interview notes and more. The tool is immensely fungible, with more commands than you’ll ever really use. That means everyone’s Roam notebook says more about them and how they organize their thoughts than it does about the tool itself.

Roam is not for the faint of heart. It costs $15/month for the basic plan, and it takes a bit to learn, but once you do, can be a HUGE boon. I wrote a more detailed post on my blog, and I’m 100% willing to give a demo to anyone who is curious.

Thanks, Dave! I learned a new tool and what the word fungible meant, all in one email. Stay in touch, reporters!
