This week, I have a security tool that makes private email communication quick and easy. Mailvelope is a browser extension that works seamlessly to encrypt messages and attachments.
“Encrypt” means to makes your message extra secure. You may not need to encrypt every message, but if it’s extra sensitive, encrypting can be a good choice. And with services like Mailvelope it can be surprisingly easy!
The Mailvelope extension give you a unique “keypair.” Your public key is what others use to send messages to you, and your private key allows you to open the encrypted messages you receive.
You do need to turn on Mailvelope via a button for each mail you want to encrypt. It’s available on web browsers, or can be added straight into Gmail or Outlook. Get encrypting, reporters!
