Urgent care for your urgent election needs

Well, we’re here, reporters! We made it out the other side of yet another contentious US election. For those of you with election fatigue, I 1000% understand. But I’m going to share one more – and then we’re moving on. I swear!

The Knight Election Hub is offering “urgent care” for reporters. It’s actually a Slack channel with over a hundred Knight staffers and others to talk to you about data, access, digital safety, ethics – basically anything along the lines of, “I am still here and reporting on the election!”

You do need to be a member of a nonpartisan newsroom to make use of the Election Urgent Care program. You can apply via this Google Form with a few simple entries like a link to your professional profile.

Shoutout to Knight and OpenNews for not just a useful support group but also one of the better tool names I’ve come across in recent years. And that was it – our last 2024 US election tool! At least I think so… I guess I can’t promise.

Next time we’ll have some new tools, and I have a big announcement for TFR that I am excited about! Keep an eye out, reporters!
